Xi (pronounced Ksee) is a small hamlet situated in a pretty area bordering Xi Beach.  Xi beach is renowned for its red sand, clay cliffs and shallow-shelving crystal-clear waters.  The beach is over a mile long and looks out to Vardiani Island, just over a mile out to sea.

 

Xi Beach offers water-sports and is well served with facilities.  This is an ideal area for all the family. 

 

The nearest town is Lixouri (about 4 miles), Kefalonia’s second-largest town and capital of the Paliki Peninsla.

 

The beach at Xi offers all you will need in water-sports and entertainment and continues along to Mega Lakos beach .

 

Along the coastline, around 10 minutes away, is the famous area of Kounopetra where you can see and experience the ‘Moving Rock’ at the end of the headland.

 

You can also explore the beach and small harbour of Vatsa with its crystal-clear waters and traditional beach taverna. 

 

Continuing around the Paliki peninsula the coastline will take you, eventually, over the far side to Kipouria and the cliff-edge monastery which is occupied only by the old monk who has renovated and maintained the property for many years.

 

This area has breath-taking views over the sea and the most fantastic sunsets you will have ever experienced.
