Agios Dimitrios

Situated about two miles north of Lixouri (Kefalonia’s second-largest town) Agios Dimitrios is a small hamlet with a long, sandy beach. The beach is eminently suitable for young and inexperienced swimmers as it shelves gently into the Gulf of Lixouri.

There are a couple of local tavernas in this quiet hamlet. The nearest shopping is in Lixouri, just 2 km. south of Agios Dimitrios.

Lixouri is very traditional, offering all the amenities and facilities of a working town. In the main square you will find a large selection of snack and coffee bars. Off the main square are a number of pedestrianised side streets offering numerous shops, tavernas and snack bars. The main promenade of the town is lined by a mixed selection of tavernas offeing water-front dining.

A pleasant 20-minute ferry ride across the Paliki Bay takes you to the capital town of Argostoli.
